Hiking the MacRitchie Reservoir Trail

Hah.  Heat no longer holds any terrors for me.  I like to go hiking or exercising early in the morning, before it heats up (anything over 82 degrees Fahrenheit, the nightly low lately, is heating up), but couldn’t get my spouse going until 9:30.  So we hiked for 3.5 hours between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m..  Fortunately, there’s a lot of shade on this trail, which goes round the reservoir and up the hill to a neat canopy walk, then back to the main park on boardwalks right next to the water – with monitor lizards waddling around, lots of fish to look at, and snakes to think about, although we didn’t see any.  So after 3.5 hours in 85-90 degree heat, with high humidity and thunder rumbling in the distance, we had a snack and a drink and headed back to the taxi stand.  Saw another thoroughly tired guy, in this picture, resting safely from the threat of durians falling from above.  Please enlarge the picture to see the sign clearly.

We didn’t see any durians above.  No durians were injured in the creation of this blog entry.
