More Vietnamese Coffee!

Cafe Trung Nguyen opened a third outlet in April on Raffles Boulevard: it’s #01-09 Marina Square.  This is in addition to the one on the second floor of Liang Court Mall, and the one in the departure lounge of Changi Airport’s Terminal 2.  Let joy be unconfined!  Let the coffee flow like water!  Let everyone in Singapore get really hyper!

Never realized you are such a coffee person! What are you going to do if you can’t find Vietnamese coffee when you are back in the US? Perhaps you can become a coffee importer yourself :)

Did you just post this one? I swear this entry wasn’t there when I checked your blog about 5 minutes ago …

Hi Mei! Well, yes, I am a coffee addict. When I’m back in the U.S. I have to start scouring Little Saigon in San Jose to see if anyone there carries the stuff, and maybe see if Trung Nguyen would like to open an outlet in some high-end place, like Palo Alto.

Their policy seems to be to locate in high-end locations, so keep your eyes out for me! On the other hand, it’s an interesting call; in the U.S., Vietnamese things seem to be largely associated with inexpensive parts of towns. But in Singapore the Vietnamese brand is bifurcated; you can go there for a lovely bride (so everyone knows there’s a lot of poverty) but you can also go for fun and lovely tourism, so there’s a high-end image of the country as well that can support high-end coffee prices. I don’t know to what extent this is replicable in the U.S., even in the Bay Area.
