Macaws

 These guys are at the Bird Park, where they greet visitors at the tram station, preen on a chalk wall in Parrot Paradise, and engage in formation flying at the Bird Buddies show.  That’s really glorious to see.  
  Many of these specimens come not from their native South America, but from New Zealand.  They  were hatchlings and eggs intercepted at the airport as part of the agricultural and native wildlife protection plan.  In accordance with the plan they would have been destroyed, but the Jurong Bird Park was willing to adopt them instead.  That was in 1987.  They can live for 70 years, so only 50 more to go!
