    That’s hilarious! I wonder if it was a “404 error”, which would be another funny name for a restaurant. :-)

    haha, that would be a good one, though most people can figure out “404” isn’t related to the original meaning, even without knowing English!

    When I was in Beijing last month, I was with a colleague who is British. Once during dinner in a nice restaurant I told this story as a joke, and he paused for a minute then said, “that is not very kind.” It was my turn to pause before I figured out how he understood the joke. There is a second meaning to this story: That restaurant is not a English word (it’s a dig at English cooking).
